The Adaptations Committee was formed to connect with and explore ways for AVP-USA to support those who have created Adaptations, as well as ways for those who have created Adaptations to \u201cgive back\u201d to AVP in ways that will promote the growth of AVP in the USA and beyond.<\/p>\n
The Community of AVP can be thought of as concentric circles, formed around the core of AVP, which is Transforming Power (see diagram).<\/p>\n
Circles 1, 2, and 3 form the traditional Core of AVP.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n Circle 1: AVP Methodology:<\/b>\u00a0 The traditional AVP-style of experiential training\u2014its core values, principles, processes, practices, and our belief in Transforming Power and how we get there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Circle 2: AVP Standard Workshops:<\/b> The traditional series\u2014 Basic, Advanced, and Training for Facilitators (T4F), including the full 18-22 hours of AVP workshops, delivered by a team of AVP trained facilitators within an AVP recognized group.<\/span><\/p>\n Circle 3: AVP Variations:<\/b> Include but are not limited to promotional \u201cmini\u201d events, AVP \u201ctasters\u201d or introductory sessions, stand-alone specialized topics, and continuing learning workshops. Variations are delivered by AVP trained facilitators in an AVP recognized group, using AVP methodology. <\/span><\/p>\n Circle 4 are the Adaptations that are addressed by this Committee.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n Circle 4: Adaptations:<\/b> Adaptations are workshops or programs that are not standard AVP workshops although they may be closely related. They are designed by an experienced AVP facilitator but may be delivered by an outside organization and its respective facilitators. They include individuals or organizations that have adapted aspects of AVP to meet the specific needs of particular target groups, communities, or contexts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Circle 5: AVP-Influenced Workshops:<\/b> AVP-Influenced activities, not always workshops; might involve non-traditional use of aspects of AVP.
